The Golden Spread Council will provide, through Health Special Risk, Inc., an accident and sickness insurance plan. All Currently registered youth and adults of the council will have this coverage for a $1.00 per person/per year charge. The insurance plan is just like the one your unit may or may not have taken out from Mutual of Omaha. The plan provides year round coverage for injuries occurring anywhere in the world While:

• Participating in an official Scouting activity (Unit, District and Council).
• Traveling to and from official Scouting activities (Unit, District and Council).
• Coverage is provided for sickness that begins while the insured member is:
• In attendance at an official overnight Scouting activity or event operated and surervised by the Council (Unit, District and Council).
• Traveling to and from such an overnight or other covered event (Unit, District and Council).

Insurance Form

At re-charter time, your unit needs to collect the $1.00 per registered adult and youth for the coverage and submit it with your recharter. Unfortunately, accidents and sickness occurs during scouting activities and we can all rest better knowing that our Scouts and leaders have coverage. A council plan saves your unit and parents money.
