Alan Alexander
Alan earned the Rank of Eagle Scout in 1974. He began his active adult volunteer service in 1998 as unit commissioner with Pack 39 chartered by First Christian Church in Dumas.
He has served Lone Wolf and Quanah Parker Districts as merit badge counselor, district committee member, and is currently Scoutmaster for Troop 199, chartered by the First Christian Church in Dumas.
He has been awarded the Scoutmaster Award of Merit (1998), District Award of Merit (1998), the Vigil Honor, and Arrowman of the Year in Order of the Arrow. He is Wood Badge trained and received the Commissioner’s Arrowhead. In 2009 Alan was awarded the Founders Award by the OA Lodge.
Alan is a Utility Operator with the McKee Refinery for Valero Energy. He and his wife are members of the First Christian Church in Dumas.
Alan has shown his dedication and love of Scouting by working to keep the program alive for local youth in Dumas. He credits a man in his church with teaching him there was purpose in his life, after some hardships he suffered, and now he seeks to show young Scouts their purpose is to value what they learn in Scouting and share it with others.
